Mexican Chef

From an early age, Rossana has always been fascinated by the flavours of Mexico. Born in Mexico City, Rossana has been living in Vancouver for nearly 15 years. She is a television producer and host of a number of series both in Spanish and English
She was co-owner of the award winning restaurant “The Mouse & The Bean” Antojeria Mexicana, which is still run and operated by her family, and continues to provide authentic Mexican Food.
Worked with the Mexican government through the institutes of Mexicans abroad to promote Mexican gastronomy outside of Mexico, and was named cultural promoter by the National council of Arts and Culture CONACULTA and served as a guest judge for a Traditional Women Cooks event in the state of Michoacan, Mexico.
Organized and hosted events around the Trinational Week of Mexican Culture and Gastronomy, held within the frame of the celebration of the Day of the Dead, every year it featured a rich menu featuring 7 different states of Mexico.
After 4 years of working with her family’s restaurant, she decided to embark in a journey of her own, and expanded her culinary horizons by completing the professional culinary program at one of the city’s top academies.
She continues to teach classes for both the general public and future chefs the rich culinary tradition of Mexico and has been invited a number of times to CityTV’’s City Cooks, always featuring traditional recipes from across Mexico
She has demonstrated Mexican cooking on one of the Eat Vancouver stages in the past.
For Rossana, there is one thing that is very important, food and culture always go hand in hand, la comida mexicana es cultura y factor de identidad.
