Cooking With Sandy TV Show, Vancouver, Canada - 2002 to present

The first Filipino cooking show was launched last April 2002 on the Shaw Multicultural channel featuring Sandy Daza.  The show’s format is unlike the contemporary cooking show formats one watches in the Food Channel.  Cooking With Sandy is a cooking show with a structured format similar to how a cooking school would demonstrate instructions to a group of novice cooks. Ingredients are complete, prepared, displayed and explained, and within easy access once the demonstration begins.  The recipe is also flashed on the screen giving television viewers enough time to write down the recipe should they wish to.

Cooking with Sandy’s main feature are Philippine delicacies and other staple dishes however there are also a lot of international dishes and personal inventions that are thrown in to make for variety and to spice up the repertoire.

All the featured recipes are researched, tried and tested and created by Sandy unless otherwise stated.  The ingredients are simple but delicious and easy to find.

Sandy first started appearing as a cooking show host with his mother Nora Daza in her famous Philippine Cooking Show “Let’s Cook With Nora” in 1987 then he started appearing on his own in the prime time TV show Eat Bulaga’s cooking segment Del Monte Kitchenomics in 1991 to 1999. Finally Sandy launched his very own Cooking Show called Cooking With Sandy in 1998 and is currently still on the air. Sandy also has a cookbook on the market.
