In Canada, Daenna has become the go to person for on-line wine reviews. Daenna Van Mulligen lives in Vancouver where she works as a wine writer and publisher. She has been the master of ceremonies and primary educator for the past six years at EAT! Vancouver's wine stage and at EAT! Fraser Valley to entertain and educate you about all things wine. She returns to the EAT! stage for her seventhyear.

She is well known in the industry via her alter-ego Wine Diva www.WineDiva.ca a tongue-in-cheek wine website geared toward her very serious passion for all things wine. Seven years, five continents and thousands of wine reviews later WineDiva.ca and its sister site WineScores.ca reaches hundreds of thousands of readers around the world each month.

Daenna is an accredited sommelier who thrives on educating the public with her deviously inspirational and humorous approach to wine hoping to share her knowledge and increase consumer consumption while decreasing wine snobbery.

Daenna is also a regular contributor to Vines Magazine (Canada’s largest wine magazine) and to the BC Liquor Stores Taste Magazine. You can hear her weekly on Terry David Mulligan’s The Tasting Room Radio or see her often on local television.

Please note that participation iin a wine seminar includes tasting of the various subject wines and there is a per person cost of 4 tasting tickets per session. (1 tasting ticket = 50 cents)

Just Here For the Beer

Just Here For The Beer (JHFTB) is a Vancouver based beer education and consulting company. JHFTB has been teaching beer tasting and education classes for the past 8 years at UBC, local community centres and private seminars. During this time period JHFTB has also organized numerous beer festivals at UBC and its members have been guest speakers at major industry events and at local community colleges. The company has also been featured on television and radio and in the newspaper. All of our sponsors and venders who participate in the festivals, events and classes benefit from the exposure we bring to the industry.

Rick loves tasting beer. He brings a wealth of experience to the students in the class. He is the Just Here For The Beer brewing expert and can tell you all you need to know about the different types of beer from around the world. Rick also brings a fun aspect to the class by teaching various drinking games from around the world. Rick has his business diploma and loves looking at the marketing aspects of the beer industry. He is the company director of operations for the special events and festivals. Rick is a Just Here For The Beer owner, beer expert, instructor, marketing expert, and party host.

Cheryl joined the team on a regular basis in Spring 2009. After volunteering for a variety of events she decided to take the leap and help teach the classes at UBC and join the boys during their various public appearances. Cheryl works full time as a director of studies for a language school in Vancouver. She is the Just Here For The Beer class activities coordinator and also specializes in the local craft brewing industry and lambic beers. Cheryl is always visible helping out at the festivals and private events as a beer expert and host.

"Women have so much to offer to the beer industry and I think that is why Rick and Colin were so eager to have me join the team. I really enjoy tasting new beers at the various festivals and events."

Join the Dean of Mott's Clamato Caesar School, Len Fragomeni, for expert tips and delicious recipes centered around this truly Canadian masterpiece. Throughout the 45-minute session you will gain key insight into cocktail preparation from classic to exotic variations.

The class offers group of 36 students the opportunity to get behind the bar and learn, hands-on, the latest techniques for preparing this classic cocktail, including its history, glassware, ingredients, unique garnishes and how to select the most suitable spirits.

Each student will enjoy four variations of the Mott’s Clamato Caesar and savoury snacks plus take home a recipe manual and Mott’s Clamato Caesar gift. A total value of over $40!

Our barmen are experts in the craft of creating cocktails, focusing on building real London style classics and fresch new interpretations from around the world. Our Signature mobile lounge boasts honey onyx ice wells, cured walnut chopping blocks and some of Belgium's most creative post-modern designs, all woven together to create a fully mobile and distinctly unique pouring lounge.
