'Sugar'
& 'Fresh with Anna Olson' programs

Anna OlsonAnna Olson will be on the Food Network Celebrity Stage and will be recreating some of her famous recipes utilizing SPLENDA® Brand products.

Anna Olson originally hails from Atlanta, Georgia, but considers herself a Canadian gal, as she was raised in Toronto and has lived in Niagara for over 10 years.  A degree in Political Studies and Sociology from Queen’s University in Kingston helped Anna hone her writing skills, but it wasn’t until she pursued her true passion for cooking at Johnson & Wales University in Vail, Colorado, that she really found her calling.

Anna spent some time working in Colorado, Texas, and New Orleans before being drawn to the cooking styles of Michael Olson at Inn on the Twenty in Jordan.  She fell madly in love with his respectful approach to cooking using local and seasonal ingredients, and then fell madly in love with Michael!  They were married in 1999.

After leaving Inn on the Twenty as pastry chef, Anna moved into the medium of television as host of Sugar on Food Network Canada.  Sugar,an approachable all-dessert show, ran for five seasons and well over a hundred episodes. Additionally, Anna successfully hosted Kitchen Equipped a kitchen renovation series for two seasons which aired on both Food Network Canada and HGTV.  Anna’s latest series Fresh with Anna Olson features Anna in the comfort of her Niagara Region country home, preparing delicious and accessible recipes based on her personal mantra “eat fresh, eat local.” Splenda

 “BBQ” Naz Cavallaro

Grilling Expert/Spokesperson

bbq nazWeber
Naz Cavallaro grew up in the city of Toronto. "BBQ NAZ", as most of his friends now call him, followed his dream of making an impact in the food service and hospitality industry and he continues to do so one idea at a time. Over 20 years of creative manipulation and expecting consumer demands to always be surpassed, he comes across as one who feeds from your total satisfaction.  His accomplishments in the food service industry include, "The People’s Choice Award" in 1993 as top restaurant of Toronto for great Italian/Mediterranean cuisine with exemplary service. “Il Sorriso” (The Smile) Trattoria was located in the heart of the Fashion district in Toronto.  It was quite an accomplishment at that time for anyone in the restaurant business, especially when they were only 25 years old!  And it didn’t seem to end there… he promised more to come.  A quote from one of many food critics at that time reads, “with Chef Naz taking reigns in the kitchen, I am sure all the cracks and crannies will soon be flourishing with flavours of joy”.
